Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - September 2010

Hello all.  I'm so excited to join the blog hop this month.  This is my first!  I'm sort of new to blogging and I'm so excited to join in and share with all of you.  I've gotten SO MANY wonderful ideas from SO MANY stampers - it was hard to decide what to post ! ! I learned this cutout technique from Kristina Werner.  I've used it a couple of times for cards and have just loved the results.  I have also learned alot from Heather Nichols  and the Papertrey Ink site and forum.  I made the little Trick or Treat bags that Heather created and just love them.  I would never have thought to use glassine bags that way.  How creative!  I could spend hours going thru all of the ideas and the galleries.  Anyway, hope you like my card.  I can't wait to visit all of your blogs.  Happy Hopping to all!

All Occasion Card - Kraft/Bark

This is a more masculine card - love the "bark" effect.

All Occasion Card - Kraft/green strips

It's kind of hard to tell from this photo what this card really looks like.  It's a very simple card.  You can't quite see the gold "stitch" marks - they really add to the interest of the card.

All Occasion Card - Watercolor Flower

"Watercolor" Flower card.  So much fun to make.

Card - Thinking of You . . .

This card has a lined envelope.

5 year Katrina Anniversary

Five years ago today, hurricane Katrina blew in and changed our lives forever.  My grandpuppy, Diesel, was with me then, and he just happens to be here with me now.  Seems appropriate.  I was so glad he was with  me on that horrific day 5 years ago, to keep me company for the few weeks without power, water, etc.  He made that time much easier.  I'm also happy that he's here with me now!  My daughter REALLY misses him though and soon, he'll return to his Florida lifestyle with her.

Mini Halloween Treat Bag

Designed by Nichole Heady - Papertrey Ink

Here is a cute little treat bag for Halloween.  I LOVE it!  It's a small 4x4 envelope filled with candy - could be any small candy; candy corn, Skittles, Reese's Pieces, M&M's, etc. This one uses all Papertrey Ink products with the exception of the ribbon and the candy corn.  Click here to see Nichole's post with pictures and instructions.

Halloween Card - Witches feet

This card is completely different than what I had in mind when I began it.  It sort of took on a life of it's own.  Funny how that sometimes happens.  The patterned paper is from Echo Park and the buttons are Papertrey Ink.

Halloween Card

My first Halloween card of the year.  The papers are from Echo Park, the embossing powder is Zing, and the polka dot border stamp is from Papertrey Ink. The halloween stamp is one that I recently picked up at Michael's. I stamped the dot border on the envelope as well - I always like to somehow tie the envelope to the card.  Sometimes I line it with matching or complementary paper, and sometimes I just stamp it with whatever the card was stamped with.  So cute!  I'm about to make some cute "Treat Bags" - I'll post them soon.  I LOVE to make these things, but sometimes wonder what to do with them all.  I mean, how many people can you send a Halloween card to?  haha  No matter, I'm sure they will all find good homes eventually!

Cute baby card

Inspired by a card designed by Michelle Wooderson

I love this card!  I made it for a young friend of mine who is about to have her first baby - a boy named Joshua.  The card and envelope are kraft paper.  The patterened papers are from Papertrey Ink, as are the stamps (Bitty Baby Blessings).  The envelope flap is also stamped with the sailboat image.  Hope you like it.

I made this as a sympathy card. It's simple and clean.

Fun Everyday Cards

Here are two cards that I really like.  I used the Martha Stewart circle cutter on the top one.  I wasn't sure I'd like that cutter, but it seems to work well once you get the hang of it.  If the piece of paper you are cutting is small, it's helpful to put a piece of removable adhesive underneath before you cut the circles. The bottom card was inspired by a card that Kristina Werner made and uses a Bella Blvd stamp set called Flirty.  I love it!

Little girl's reversible dress

Look at this adorable reversible dress that my daughter and I made for her friend's little girl. I made the dress and Leigh did the monogramming. I just love it!

Snow Dog

Here is the snow picture of Diesel. I just now figured out how to send the picture from my phone. Isn't he soooo cute? It's so crazy to be looking at and posting this picture in August. The heat index here in south Mississippi was 115 degrees yesterday. This snow is lookin MIGHTY good!

Diesel is back !

Hello all. This is my grandpuppy, Diesel. Isn't he the cutest thing you've ever seen? This picture was taken when he was just a baby, but it's one of my favorites. He is staying with me again while my daughter travels for her job. I'm hoping he'll be here for a few weeks. I do so miss him when he is not here. He's such good company! As I'm typing this, he is patiently waiting on my bed for me to bring him his bedtime snack (Beggin Strips - bacon). What a good boy!

Snow Day in South Mississippi

Can you believe it? We got 3 inches of snow in South Mississippi last night. This certainly doesn't happen very often. I'm keeping my "grandpuppy" for my daughter and this is the first time he's ever seen snow (they live in Orlando). He was soooo funny this morning when I took him out to potty. At first, he would have nothing to do with the snow. He wouldn't even walk in it. Finally, he gave in. Then suddenly, it seemed to be the greastest thing ever to him. He ran in circles, then back and forth across the yard stopping momentarily to eat some snow. It was hard to get him to come back inside. It was just too funny.

I hope everyone is well. I'm sure most paper crafters are busy finishing up their valentine cards for Sunday. Happy Valentines Day to all.

Thank you for visiting.
